HELLO ALL FAMILIES AND FILM LOVERS:
The Roxy Kids in Action and the Roxy Theatres of Uxbridge are very excited to be once again hosting the SHORTS FOR SHORTIES film festival at the Roxy on Saturday September 24th, 2011 at 9:00 am. The program will be the newest films premiered at the recent 2011 June Short Film Festival held in Toronto, hosted by the World Wide Short Film Festival. This very sucessful event is presented for the enjoyment of the families and most importantly for the children in these families (although the films appeal to all ages). All tickets will be on sale by early August at the Roxy Box Office and Presents, Presents, Presents and at the door the day of the event (if we have any left….yikes!) and are only $4.00 each. As doors open at 9:00 am we will also be offering coffee, tea and baked goods for the “not short shorties” for a donation to the Uxbridge Youth Centre. The usual concession goodies featuring our famous Roxy popcorn with real butter on top if desired will be also available for the young ones and for the young at heart! This is a fundraiser run by some of the best volunteers in Uxbridge, the Roxy Kids In Action who will be celebrating their 15th year volunteering in our communities this fall. The Roxy Kids will also be selling movies posters from which all of the proceeds go towards the ongoing volunteer efforts of the Roxy Kids in Action.
