Uxbridge Music Hall, 16 Main St. S.

Uxbridge Bands Together

Four local bands rock the music hall. Come enjoy some original music by each band and as well as a few great covers.

Featuring:
Air Marshal Landing
Cory Adrian, Matt Simmonds & Graham Drummond

Air Marshal Landing, Cory Adrian (guitar & vocals), Matt Simmonds (piano & vocals) & Graham Drummond (drums) are  inspired by the world around them to write and perform their songs with a style that is like “a mix of midnight optimism and afternoon bitterness, where daydreams and reality meet up for biscuits and tea”. Their indie/alternative/rock performances ooze talent as they create an atmosphere that resonates with high energy and a positive and thoughtful insight.

Heavy Traffic
Matt Gunn, Brett Simmonds & Rob Thorton

Heavy Traffic, a three‐piece progressive rock band, from Uxbridge ON is currently working on their debut album. Heavy Traffic has a pulse and energy that separates them from the norm. Their heavy, obscure sound engulfs you into a vice of deep emotion and powerful thought. Matt Gunn (drums) and Brett Simmonds (guitar) started jamming and working on riffs in 2009. They soon realized that they had something worth pursuing, and after trying out bass players and singers over the next year they found a bass player named Rob Thornton. A great addition to Heavy Traffic, Rob has been a friend of Matt and Brett’s for the past 10 yrs. Rob is a talented player and is able to keep up with the intricate time signatures and arrangements vital to the Heavy Traffic jam. Their debut album is scheduled to release this fall.

The independent Toronto music critic The Lonely Vagabond described Juice’s live show saying “Mixing hip-hop, funk, and sun-drenched 70′s pop, this is an energy-fueled sound that will make you hit the dance floor!”  Focusing on high energy and excitement with all their live performances, Juice is a band that will not disappoint any music fan who comes out!

Waking Aspen
Matt Davis & Joey Gribble

Waking aspen, a duo hailing from Uxbridge/Goodwood, began as an experimentaloff shoot of a heavy rock band (Kid Stallion) which contained both members.Joe Gribble and Matt Davis have been writing music together for nearly six years and have been in 5 bands together. To them it seemed only natural that they develop their own style and sound, apart from that of their other bands. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Bright Eyes, David Bazan, Iron & Wine, Sigur Ros, Thrice, Brand New and Chad Vangaelan, the music took a folky rock form, riddled with poppy melodies and experimental sounds and recording techniques. Their self titled first release was a stab at what sounds the duo was aiming for, with lyrics that predominate with the question of theism and divinity. The second, dubbed ‘Lucy Tooth’, gave the members a chance to flesh out some songs from their back catalogue and have them see the light of day.  Both these albums are 6 song E.Ps available for free download at wakingaspen.bandcamp.com. The next release, their first LP, will be used to demonstrate the bands abilities with varied styles and dynamic composition. As they continue to write and reflect on past creations, Waking Aspen hopes their sound can reach anyone and everyone with open ears.
